Instructions for the Use of Streaming Media Server Software

Streaming media server software is one of the components of client software (the current version is iVMS-4200 V2.0). Click to download the client software on the website, and you can choose the streaming media server software when you install it. Streaming media server software needs to be used in conjunction with the client in order to achieve forwarding effect.
The usage steps of streaming media server are as follows:
1. Install and run the streaming media server software on the PC or server that wants to be the forwarding server. The two parts of the software from top to bottom are the connection information area and the command information area. (It can run directly without configuration, or change ports in configuration as needed).
Note: When using streaming media, you need to close the firewall of PC or server. If the firewall cannot be shut down due to special requirements, the ports of 554 and 12000-13000 need to be mapped.
2. After running the software, add a streaming media server to the client PC. Select the streaming media server in the “Device Management” interface and select “Add Device”.
3. Fill in the pop-up dialog box and click the IP address and port number of the PC or server running the streaming media server software. (If the port of the streaming media server is not modified, the default 554 will do).
4. Select the added streaming media server, click “Configuration”, and select the monitoring points that need to be streamed through streaming media.
5. Repeat steps 2-4 on other computer clients that need to be accessed, and add all of them after completion. After the addition is successful, preview and see the prompt in the connection information area and the command information area respectively.
Possible reasons why streaming media servers are still ineffective after forwarding:
1. Some clients do not add streaming media servers, but still access data streams through direct devices.
2. IE has no forwarding effect. After PC accesses the device through IE, it has occupied several concurrent streaming routes of the device. At this time, client forwarding through streaming media will also have some channel playback failures. At this point, the IE preview test can be turned off.
3. Streaming media server network can not effectively forward to the upper limit. At this time, we need to confirm that the number of forwarding routes does not reach the upper limit of server network load capacity. At present, the forwarding capacity of 4200 streaming media servers is 64 routes in and 200 routes out. (According to 2M stream calculation, if the stream is higher than 2M, the number of routes in and out will decrease accordingly; but if the stream is lower than 2M stream, the maximum number of routes in and out will remain unchanged.)
4. Running several streaming media server software, the image of a hard disk recorder is forwarded through different streaming media servers.
